उत्तर
The Prime Minister of India is appointed by the President. After general elections, the President invites the leader of the political party or coalition that has a clear majority in the Lok Sabha to form the government. If no party has a clear majority, the President may use discretion to appoint a leader who is likely to command majority support. Once appointed, the Prime Minister advises the President on the appointment of other ministers. The President appoints these ministers based on the Prime Minister’s recommendation. The ministers are selected from among the members of Parliament. However, if someone is appointed as a minister without being a member of either House, they must get elected or nominated within six months. The Prime Minister also allocates portfolios (ministries) to the ministers and can reshuffle or remove them. The Council of Ministers includes different categories such as Cabinet Ministers, Ministers of State (Independent Charge), and Ministers of State, all appointed in the same manner.
