उत्तर

Pressmud, also known as filter cake or filter mud, is a thick, dark residue produced during the purifying and filtration of sugarcane juice in sugar mills. It is a major byproduct of the sugar industry, containing filtered organic debris, cane fibers, soil particles, and chemical precipitates formed during the clarifying process. Because it contains critical elements such as phosphate, nitrogen, potassium, and organic carbon, pressmud is commonly processed into high-quality organic fertiliser and compost for agricultural crops, hence improving soil structure and water retention.
