Screening occurs when players from the serving team block the view of their opponents, making it difficult to see the server or the ball’s flight. This can happen through individual or group actions.
It is considered screening when:
- The opponents are unable to see the server or the path of the ball due to players standing in the way.
- The server is hidden behind two or more teammates.
- Players move, jump, or wave their arms just as the serve is being made, creating a distraction.
If the referee notices any of these actions, they can call a screening fault, and the point is awarded to the opposing team.
