Domestic violence refers to abuse within the family. Violence implies psychological, emotional, verbal and physical torture. Mostly it goes unreported as it is treated as a personal matter and is perceived to be ‘normal’ in the patriarchal system.
Example: Torturing of daughter-in-law by in laws, husband hitting his wife and children etc.
