उत्तर

The triple jump is also known as Hop, Step, Jump. On the hop, the jumper lands on the same foot as on the take-off board. After completing the hop, the jumper transitions to the step phase, taking off with his left foot from where he landed. Landing on the opposite foot, he completes the event’s final phase with the jump. The jump is a standard long jump action where the jumper takes off from the foot that landed on the step.

According to IAAF rules, “the hop shall be made so that an athlete lands first on the same foot as that from which he has taken off; in the step he shall land on the other foot, from which, subsequently, the jump is performed.” Jonathan Edwards has the world record for jumping 18.29 meters (60 feet 0 inches), while Inessa Kravets of Ukraine holds the record for jumping 15.50 meters (50 feet 10 inches).
