उत्तर
Ocean currents do not flow very close to the coast. They generally flow near the land surface. Although the speed of ocean currents is low, the amount of water carried with them is enormous. Under the influence of westerly winds, i.e., around the mid-latitudes, ocean currents flow from west to east, but equatorial currents flow from east to west. This creates a circular pattern of ocean currents.
