Construction:
- Core: It consists of a straight bar made of soft iron, labelled as AB.
- Coil: A thin, insulated copper wire XY is wound tightly around this soft iron bar in the shape of a cylindrical solenoid coil.
- External Circuit Connection: The ends X and Y of the copper wire are connected externally to a DC power source (Battery) through a circuit loop.
- Control Elements: The circuit loop contains an Ammeter (A) to measure current, a Rheostat to regulate the strength of the current, and a plug Key to turn the electric supply on or off.
