उत्तर

  • In a bus physical topology, all devices are connected to a single shared cable, known as the backbone of the network.
  • The structure of a bus physical topology is illustrated in the following figure.
  • The backbone cable is accessible to every node, allowing each device to transmit data to all other nodes in the network.
  • In most bus topologies, signals travel in both directions along the backbone cable, enabling all workstations to receive the signal. However, in some cases, buses are unidirectional, where data flows only in one direction, and therefore only downstream devices can receive the signal.
  • The backbone cable carries the transmitted message along the network. When the message reaches a workstation, it verifies whether the destination address matches its own. If it does not, the workstation ignores the message and it continues to the next node.
  • The backbone cable is terminated at both ends using terminators to prevent signal reflection. A commonly used implementation of bus topology is Ethernet operating at 10 Mbps.
