उत्तर १
- New canes are usually planted by taking cuttings from old plants. These cuttings, known as setts, quickly become established, and after a few days, buds sprout to form new stalks.
- Four to five stalks grow from each cutting.
- The sugarcane takes anything from 8 months to a year to mature.

उत्तर २
The sett method is the traditional and most commonly used method for planting sugarcane, in which fresh cane stalks are split into smaller pieces known as “setts” (which often contain 2 to 3 healthy buds or “eyes”). These setts are placed horizontally in pre-dug furrows or trenches and then covered with dirt. Under proper moisture and warm temperatures, the buds sprout into fresh cane shoots, while the nodes generate separate roots that eventually grow into full-sized sugarcane stalks.
