In volleyball, the front zone (or front row) is made up of three players positioned near the net. Their key responsibilities are:
- Attackers (Outside Hitter, Middle Blocker, Opposite Hitter)
- Spike/Attack: Score points by hitting the ball hard into the opponent's court.
- Block: Jump to block the opponent's attacks and keep the ball from reaching the net.
- Setter (If in the Front Row)
- Set the Ball: Provide accurate sets to attackers for effective spikes.
- Dump Attack: Attack by tipping the ball over the net when the defender anticipates a set.
- Block: Serve as a secondary blocker when needed.
- Middle Blocker
- Primary Blocker: Defends against swift attacks in the middle and assists on both the sides.
