For hydrogen atom (En) = `(-13.6)/n^2` eV
Energy in third orbit (n = 3):
E3 = `(-13.6)/3^2` eV
= `(-13.6)9` eV
= −1.51 eV
For Bohr’s orbit:
Total Energy (E) = K + U
K = −E
U = 2 E
Calculate K.E. and P.E. in the 3rd orbit:
K3 = −E3
= 1.51 eV
U3 = 2 E3
= 2(−1.51)
= −3.02 eV
