Steps of Construction:

Step 1: Draw a circle with O as center and radius 6 cm.

Step 2: Draw another circle with O as center and radius 4 cm.

Step 3: Mark a point P on the circle with radius 6 cm.

Step 4: Join OP and bisect it at M.

Step 5: Draw a circle with M as centre and radius equal to MP to intersect the given circle with radius 4 cm at points T and T'.

Step 6: Join PT and PT'.


Thus, PT or PT' are the required tangents and measure 4.4 cm each.
