Location Sympathetic neurons cell bodies are found in the thoracic and lumbar spinal cord. Parasympathetic neurons have cell bodies in the cranial nerves and sacral portion of the spinal cord.
Role The nervous system prepares the body for violent action against abnormal conditions. The parasympathetic nervous system is more concerned with re-establishing normal conditions after the violent act.
