प्रश्न
Discuss the nature of the roots of the following equation: `sqrt(3)x^2 - 2x - sqrt(3)` = 0
Advertisements
उत्तर
`sqrt(3)x^2 - 2x - sqrt(3)` = 0
Here `a = sqrt(3), b = -2, c = -sqrt(3)`
∴ D = b2 - 4ac
= `(-2)^2 - 4 xx sqrt(3) xx (-sqrt(3))`
= 4 + 12
= 16
∵ D > 0
∴ Roots are real and distinct.
