उत्तर

Mendel’s laws of inheritance consist of three key principles: the law of dominance, law of segregation, and law of independent assortment. The law of dominance states that out of a pair of contrasting traits, one is dominant and masks the other recessive trait in the offspring. The law of segregation explains that during gamete formation, paired alleles separate so each gamete receives only one allele. The law of independent assortment states that genes for different traits assort independently during gamete formation. Among these, the law of segregation is often considered the most important because it explains how alleles separate during reproduction, ensuring genetic variation and the maintenance of traits across generations. This law forms the foundation of genetic inheritance and helps predict offspring traits accurately.
