1. Race is not a biological concept but a social concept: Since there are more than 6 billion people in the world, it is getting harder to strictly divide people into groups based on racial traits. The gradual loss of distinctive physical characteristics that once distinct races has resulted from racial mixing and overlap. Furthermore, according to social scientists, race is now more of a social notion due to the social significance that one’s racial identity assumes, the treatment that follows, and the social interactions that are founded on it.
2. There are no fixed physical traits to classify race: Today, it is difficult to categorise some populations because no specific set of physical characteristics can be linked to a specific race. For example. Some Africans with dark skin have tiny lips, narrow noses, and straight hair. The unique morphological characteristics that once helped with classification have become less clear as a result of interbreeding.
3. Physical differences cannot decide race: Physical features are frequently the outcome of adaptations made by human groups to their living conditions. For example, most people in tropical and subtropical regions have darker skin because it helps shield them from the sun’s harmful rays, whereas people in extremely cold climates have shorter limbs because it helps them retain body heat.
4. No evidence to prove psychological differences: Although claims that members of different races have various temperaments, there is currently no hard proof that members of different groups inherit distinct psychological qualities or general attributes like intelligence or creative ability.
5. Concept of Pure race is a myth: The idea of a pure race has become a myth as a result of years of interbreeding between various population groupings, which has led to gene exchange to the point where people are found to have more similarities than differences.
