उत्तर

Basis of Difference Promoter Structural gene
Meaning A promoter is a DNA sequence that provides a binding site for RNA polymerase. A structural gene is a DNA region that contains information for making a functional RNA or protein.
Position A promoter is generally located upstream of the structural gene. A structural gene lies downstream of its promoter in the transcription unit.
Function A promoter helps initiate transcription and helps determine which DNA strand acts as the template. A structural gene provides the sequence that is transcribed into RNA.
Protein-coding information A promoter does not usually specify the amino acid sequence of a protein. A protein-coding structural gene specifies the amino acid sequence of its protein product.
