We have,

ABCD is a trapezium with AB || DC

In ΔAOB and ΔCOD

∠AOB = ∠COD                   ...[Vertically opposite angles]

∠OAB = ∠OCD                   ...[Alternate interior angles]

Then, ΔAOB ~ ΔCOD         ...[By AA similarity]

`therefore"OA"/"OC"="OB"/"OD"`                ...[Corresponding parts of similar Δ are proportional.]
