Aditi’s Summer Lesson

It was summer, and Aditi was spending her vacation at her grandmother’s house in Pune. Every afternoon, she played in the small forest behind the house. She loved chasing butterflies, listening to birds, and resting under the cool shade of the trees.

One day, Aditi saw some woodcutters cutting down many trees. She told her grandmother about it, but her grandmother explained that this happened every year because wood was needed for many uses. Aditi felt very sad and did not visit the forest again during her vacation.

Later, she watched a documentary about the harmful effects of cutting down trees. She learned that deforestation destroys wildlife, increases global warming, causes floods, soil erosion, air pollution, and harms the environment. She decided that even a small effort could make a difference, and so, Aditi decided to plant more trees. The incident and the documentary led her to think about the environment and so, Aditi decided to plant more trees.
