Rohit grew up in a small lakeside village and dreamed of becoming a doctor to treat the sick in his community. After long days helping his father on the boat, he studied by the weak light of an oil lantern. Money was scarce, and neighbours laughed at his ambition, but he kept at it, helping at the clinic, saving a little, and learning from every setback. He failed the entrance exam once, then worked as a lab assistant for a year, tutoring younger students and improving steadily. When the next exam results were announced, he had earned a district scholarship and a seat in medical college. The whole village gathered to celebrate; his mother cried with joy as Rohit held up the letter. Thinking of every night by the lantern and every small sacrifice, he smiled, and so, after years of struggle and hope, on that day, he had achieved his goals.
