उत्तर
Zinc nitrate solution from calcium nitrate solution :
a. \[\ce{ZnNO3 + 2NaOH ->\underset{\text{White gelatinous ppt.}}{Zn(OH)2 + NaNO3}}\]
On further addi tion of NaOH, Zn(OH)2 dissolves.
b. \[\ce{Ca(NO3)2 + 2NaOH ->\underset{\text{White ppt.}}{Ca(OH)2} + 2NaNO3}\]
Ca(OH)2 precipitates are sparingly soluble in excess of sodium hydroxide.

| Abhishek was given a salt ‘X’ which was white in colour for analysis. On strong heating, it produced a yellow residue, a colourless gas and also a reddish-brown gas. The solution of the salt ‘X’, when tested with an excess of ammonium hydroxide, produced a chalky white insoluble precipitate. |
