Efforts to reform political parties in India are as follows:
- A law should be made to regulate the internal functioning of political parties.
- Political parties should be required to maintain a register of all their members.
- Parties should be required to give at least one-third of election tickets to women candidates, and there should be a quota for women in the party’s decision-making bodies.
- Elections should be funded by the state. The government can provide parties with money or resources like petrol, paper, and telephone support for election expenses.
- Voting should be made compulsory in every election.
- Information about caste, religion, OBC, SC, or ST should not be used in any way during elections.
