Sternberg’s Triarchic Theory says intelligence has three parts:

1. Componential (analytical): using mental processes for analysing, knowledge acquisition, planning and solving problems.
2. Experiential (creative): dealing with new situations and using past experience creatively.
3. Contextual (practical): adapting to, shaping and selecting real-life environments; “street-smart” behaviour.
