उत्तर
Raymond Cattell’s Theory of Intelligence is a multi-factor theory that identifies two broad types of intelligence:
- Fluid intelligence: Fluid intelligence refers to the ability to think abstractly, solve problems, and adapt to changing situations. Fluid intelligence has long been thought to peak during the late 205 before beginning to decline gradually. The decline in fluid intelligence is thought to be related to the impairment of neurological functioning, but it may also deteriorate as it is used less frequently during older age.
- Crystallised intelligence: Crystallised intelligence is the accumulation of knowledge and skills acquired through education and experience. It is thought to increase with age and remain rather stable until maturity. The use of crystallised intelligence entails recalling previously learned information and skills. Examples of skills include riding a bike and reading.
