उत्तर

  1. In a democracy, social diversity is recognised and valued. Although differences and conflicts may occur, democratic systems provide peaceful ways to handle them through open discussion, debate, and participation of different groups in decision-making, fostering mutual respect.
  2. In contrast, non-democratic systems often try to suppress differences. In dictatorships, power is maintained through force, and many groups are denied the opportunity to express their views, which can marginalise minorities and deepen social divisions.
  3. For democracy to function effectively, the majority must not misuse its power to dominate minorities on the basis of religion, language, or race. A healthy democracy ensures that all citizens have an equal chance to influence decisions, so no group is permanently excluded.
  4. Therefore, democracy is more capable of accommodating social diversity as it upholds equality, participation, and respect for all sections of society, ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard.
