S.P. of first transistor = Rs. 600
Gain = 20%
(i) ∴ C.P. = `("S.P." xx 100)/(100 + "gain %")`
`= (600 xx 100)/(100 + 20)`
`= (600 xx 100)/120 = "Rs." 500`
S.P. of the second transistor = Rs. 600
Loss = 20%
∴ C.P. of the second transistor
`= ("S.P." xx 100)/(100 - "loss" %)`
`= (600 xx 100)/(100 - 20)`
`= "Rs." (600 xx 100)/80` = Rs. 750
∴ C.P. of the two transistors are Rs. 500 and Rs. 750
(ii) Total C.P. of both the transistors
= Rs. 500 + Rs. 750 = Rs. 1250
and total S.P. of both the transistors
= Rs. 600 + Rs. 600 = Rs. 1200
(iii) Total loss = C.P. - S.P.
= 1250 - 1200 = Rs. 50
∴ loss % =`("loss" xx 100)/"C.P."`
`= (50 xx 100)/1250 = 4%`
