उत्तर
Despite constitutional guarantees of equality, several forms of social inequalities continue to exist in India:
- Caste-Based Inequality: Lower castes, especially Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, still face social exclusion, untouchability, and limited access to education, employment, and public spaces.
- Gender Inequality: Women often face discrimination in education, employment, and political participation and are subject to violence and wage gaps.
- Religious Discrimination: Religious minorities sometimes face social prejudice, under-representation, and communal hostility.
- Economic Inequality: A wide gap exists between the rich and the poor, leading to unequal access to basic needs like health, education, and housing.
Ways to Control These Inequalities:
- Strict Implementation of Laws: Enforce laws that prohibit caste discrimination, gender bias, and communal violence.
- Educational Reforms: Promote value-based, inclusive, and secular education to foster equality and national unity.
- Economic Upliftment Programs: Launch targeted welfare schemes to uplift marginalised communities and reduce income gaps.
- Political Representation: Ensure fair representation of all sections in legislative bodies through reservations and political empowerment.
