उत्तर
- Isotonic Solution: A solution where the solute concentration outside the cell is equal to that inside the cell. There is no net movement of water, and the cell retains its normal size.
- Hypotonic Solution: A solution where the solute concentration outside the cell is lower (more diluted) than inside the cell. Water moves into the cell via endosmosis, causing it to swell and become turgid.
- Hypertonic Solution: A solution where the solute concentration outside the cell is higher (more concentrated) than inside the cell. Water moves out of the cell via exosmosis, causing the cytoplasm to shrink (plasmolysis).
