Violent media often glamorises conflict, portraying it as a quick solution to problems and shaping the belief that violence is acceptable.
Video games such as Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty require active participation, which can make violent experiences more immersive and impactful. Continuous exposure to violent imagery can also lead to the “mean world syndrome”, where individuals begin to perceive the world as more dangerous than it truly is.
However, while media can influence attitudes and behaviour, it is not the only factor. Social, economic, and psychological conditions also play vital roles in shaping how people act and respond to violence.
