1. Jharkhand:
   • The first demonstration for Jharkhand’s independence was held in 1929.
   • With the creation of the All India Jharkhand Party in 1947, the push for Jharkhand to become its own state gained momentum.
   • The President and the Prime Minister received an appeal in 1973. The ‘Jharkhand Area Autonomous Council (JAAC)’ bill was approved by the Bihar Legislative Assembly in 1994.
   • The lower house of parliament, the Lok Sabha, passed a bill in August 2000 that called for the split of Bihar and the establishment of the independent state of Jharkhand.
   • On November 15, 2000, Jharkhand became an independent state.
2. Telangana:
   • Telangana was an essential component of Andhra Pradesh. People called for Telangana to be its own state.
   • The ‘Telangana Rashtriya Samiti’ initiated the drive to establish Telangana as a distinct state.
   • The Indian government declared in 2001 that Telangana would become a distinct state.
   • The Parliament gave its approval to this idea in 2014.
   • The independent state of Telangana was established on June 2, 2014.
3. Uttarakhand:
   • Since 1930, the residents of Garhwal and Kumaon have been calling for their own state. The Indian National Congress backed it during its 1938 session.
   • Unfortunately, it was rejected by the Fazal Ali Commission.
   • In 1957, the locals launched a campaign for their demands.
   • ‘Uttarakhand Parvatiya Rajya Parishad’ was founded in 1973.
   • The movement gained momentum in 1994.
   • The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly passed a measure for a separate state in response to public discontent.
   • Ultimately, the state of Uttaranchal (now known as Uttarakhand) was established in 2000.
