उत्तर

Both ‘The Trees’ and ‘A Tiger in the Zoo’ express a universal desire for freedom and resistance to confinement. In ‘The Trees’, the plants are metaphorically stuck inside a house, with their roots pushing through the veranda cracks to reach the forest. Their struggle represents nature’s desire for liberty and return to its natural state. Similarly, in ‘A Tiger in the Zoo’, the caged tiger’s restlessness indicates his desire to be free of prison and roam freely in nature. Both poems highlight how restriction, whether in nature or in living beings, diminishes life and spirit, whereas freedom promotes growth, rejuvenation, and fulfillment. The poets emphasise that true life can only exist in liberty.
