    3. Tertiary Treatment: Advanced chemical or physical disinfection to remove remaining pathogens, nutrients, and toxic compounds before discharge.
  2. Impact of Primary Step Failure on Secondary Treatment: If the primary treatment step fails to function properly, it severely disrupts the secondary biological treatment phase through the following impacts:
