How precious it was to see Nicola and Jacopo today. Their faces are the only light in this sterile hospital room. Whenever they visit, they bring more than just news of the outside world; they bring a sense of normalcy that I desperately crave.
Thinking back to our life before the war, the contrast is almost too painful to bear. We once had a home filled with music, laughter, and the warmth of a loving family. Father was a renowned singer, and our days were spent in comfort and happiness. Then, the war shattered everything: it took our home, our health, and our innocence.
Now, my world is defined by this hospital bed and the quiet struggle for recovery. I know my brothers are sacrificing everything, every spare coin they earn, to pay for my treatment. I see the weariness in their eyes, even when they try to hide it. I am overcome with such love and guilt, praying for the day I can stand again and ease the crushing burden they carry for me. They are my heroes, and their devotion is the only reason I keep fighting to get better.
