= ₹ 15000 + ₹ 1200 + ₹ 1800
= ₹ 18000
(i) VAT = 8% of ₹ 18000
= `8/100` x 18000 = ₹ 1440
(ii) Consumer pays for the machine
= ₹ 18000 + ₹ 1440
= ₹ 19440..
