उत्तर

Given: A trapezium with parallel sides 45.2 m and 22.8 m, distance between them 12 m; turfing cost = 20 paise per m2.

Step-wise calculation:

1. Area of trapezium

= `1/2` × (sum of parallel sides) × distance

= `1/2 xx (45.2 + 22.8) xx 12`

= `1/2 xx 68.0 xx 12`

= 34.0 × 12

= 408 m2

2. Cost at 20 paise per m2

= 408 × 20 paise

= 8,160 paise

3. Convert paise to rupees:

100 paise = ₹ 1

So 8,160 paise = ₹ `(8,160)/100`

= ₹ 81.60

The cost of turfing the field is ₹ 81.60 (i.e., 8,160 paise).
