उत्तर
The concentration of water molecules in surrounding medium is higher than water molecules concentration in the cell
Explanation -
If a cell is placed in a solution containing higher concentration of water molecules than the concentration of water molecules in the cell (hypotonic solution), the cell will gain water by the process of osmosis (endosmosis). Although water molecules freely cross the cell membrane in both the directions but more water enters into the cell than leave and thus the cell swells up.
