उत्तर

Given: Number of red balls = 4

Number of blue balls = 3

Number of yellow balls = 2

Total number of balls: \[n(S) = 4 + 3 + 2 = 9\]

(i) Probability of getting a red ball:

Formula: \[P(\text{Red}) = \dfrac{n(\text{Red})}{n(S)}\]

Substitution: \[P(\text{Red}) = \dfrac{4}{9}\]

Answer: \[P(\text{Red}) = \dfrac{4}{9}\]

(ii) Probability of getting a yellow ball:

Formula: \[P(\text{Yellow}) = \dfrac{n(\text{Yellow})}{n(S)}\]

Substitution: \[P(\text{Yellow}) = \dfrac{2}{9}\]

Answer: \[P(\text{Yellow}) = \dfrac{2}{9}\]
