Physiotherapy as a profession has grown by leaps and bounds over last few decades. It has spread its wings in all branches of medical sciences, be it orthopedics, neurology, cardiology, pulmonary conditions, intensive care units, obesity, sports medicine, surgery, medicine, burns, cancer, community health. Physiotherapy is concerned with identifying and maximising quality of life and movement potential within the spheres of promotion, prevention, treatment/intervention and rehabilitation. This encompasses physical, psychological, emotional, and social well being. Physiotherapy involves the interaction between the therapist, patients, other health professionals, families, caregivers, and communities in a process where movement potential is assessed and goals are agreed upon, using knowledge and skills unique to physical therapists.

With blessings from honorable founder chancellor Pad. Dr. D.Y. Patil and under the able guidance of our young and dynamic President Shri Vijay D. Patil, Department of Physiotherapy, is oriented towards promoting growth in quality education and health services. It aims towards the goal of distinguishing itself qualitatively and quantitatively in terms of faculty, student body, achievements of alumni, course contents, infrastructure in terms of modern equipments, library, clinical materials and the research outputs. We are proud to have started post graduate and Phd programmes in physiotherapy and bsc exercise science under the department of physiotherapy, which are blooming in full swing.
