I am Bela, a resident of Palanpuri. I recently visited a Craft Mela and was deeply impressed by the wide variety of handicrafts, handlooms, and traditional textiles from across India. However, it was disappointing to see poor public participation, despite the exceptional talent of the artisans.

Lack of support not only demoralises craftspeople but also threatens our rich cultural heritage. Promoting indigenous art and craft is essential for preserving traditions and sustaining artisans’ livelihoods. I urge readers to attend such events and purchase local products. Collective support can help safeguard our cultural legacy and ensure that artisans receive the recognition they deserve.
