1. Scrotum: This pouch holds the testes outside the abdominal cavity and helps keep them cooler than normal body temperature.
2. Testes: These produce sperm and secrete the male sex hormone testosterone.
3. Sperm ducts: These include the vasa efferentia, epididymides, vas deferens and ejaculatory ducts, which transport and store sperm as it matures.
4. Accessory glands: The seminal vesicles, prostate gland and Cowper’s glands add fluids to sperm to form semen and support sperm movement and survival.
5. Urethra: This duct carries semen through the penis during ejaculation; it also carries urine at other times.
6. Penis: This is the copulatory organ through which semen is transferred into the female reproductive tract.
