उत्तर
There are dissimilarities between the eastern and western coasts of India because:
- The Western coast borders the Arabian Sea, while the Eastern coast borders the Bay of Bengal.
- Spurs originating in the Western Ghats reach all the way to the coast on the west. It is also narrower in width and has a rocky coast. On the other hand, the eastern coast was developed by river deposits.
- Rivers from the Western Ghats generate estuaries rather than deltas because they are short and rapid, whereas rivers from the Eastern Ghats have a moderate slope and deposit sediments brought with them at the coast, resulting in delta formation.
