उत्तर

There are dissimilarities between the eastern and western coasts of India because:

  1. The Western coast borders the Arabian Sea, while the Eastern coast borders the Bay of Bengal.
  2. Spurs originating in the Western Ghats reach all the way to the coast on the west. It is also narrower in width and has a rocky coast. On the other hand, the eastern coast was developed by river deposits.
  3. Rivers from the Western Ghats generate estuaries rather than deltas because they are short and rapid, whereas rivers from the Eastern Ghats have a moderate slope and deposit sediments brought with them at the coast, resulting in delta formation.
