Water is used mainly for three purposes irrigation, industrial use and domestic use.

1. Water for irrigational use: Out of these three, irrigation uses the most water. It is impossible to grow agricultural products without irrigation.
2. Water for domestic use: For domestic purposes, Water is utilised for home purposes like washing, bathing, cleaning, and drinking. Human life is impossible on Earth without water. Water is the main component of the human body. Water helps our bodies in the efficient functioning of various systems.
3. Water for industrial use: A large number of chemicals in the industry use water as a solvent. There are insufficient resources to meet the long-term needs of industry and other uses.
