उत्तर

The Id represents the pleasure principle and is the part of the personality responsible for seeking immediate gratification of basic, instinctual needs, such as sexual urges, aggressive impulses, and other primitive desires. According to Freud, the Id embodies raw, untamed emotions and serves as a reservoir of intense energy and excitement. It operates entirely at the unconscious level, with many of its urges being repressed.

The primary aim of the Id is to reduce internal tension by fulfilling biological drives, regardless of moral standards or social rules-essentially, achieving satisfaction by any means necessary. Freud likened the Id to the “beast within,” the source of both life and death instincts, filled with chaotic and unregulated desires. It lacks any sense of morality, ethics, or social responsibility. At birth, a child is considered to be completely Id-driven, acting purely on instinct without awareness of right or wrong.
