For example, people with an authoritarian personality often like strict rules, order, and clear divisions between groups. They may see the world as “us versus them” and show strong prejudice against those who are different.

People who are less empathetic may also find it harder to understand or care about others’ feelings, making them more likely to develop prejudiced attitudes.
