उत्तर

  • Mid-Term Election: Held when the Lok Sabha or a State Legislative Assembly is dissolved before completing its 5-year term. The newly elected house serves for the next term, which may be a full 5 years or the remainder of the original term.
  • By-Election: Held when a seat in the Lok Sabha or State Legislative Assembly becomes vacant due to the death, resignation, or disqualification of a member before the completion of their term. The elected member serves only for the remaining term.
