उत्तर
The tertiary sector in India has been growing rapidly for a number of reasons:
- In a developing country, the government has to provide basic services like hospitals, schools, post offices, police stations, and courts.
- Growth in farming and industry increases the need for services like trade, transport, and storage. The more agriculture and industry develop, the higher the demand for these services.
- When people earn more, they start wanting extra services like eating out, tourism, shopping malls, private hospitals, and private schools. This change happens quickly, especially in cities.
- In recent years, services based on information and communication technology have become very important and necessary.
- The government’s policy of privatization has helped the service sector grow.
- Many people work in services such as small shops, repair work, and transport.
