Reason: The outer core is composed of molten iron and nickel, and the movement of these electrically conductive materials creates convection currents. As the Earth rotates, these currents generate electric currents, which in turn produce a magnetic field. This phenomenon is known as the geodynamo. The motion of the molten metals in the outer core generates a magnetic field that surrounds the Earth, protecting it from solar radiation and creating the Earth's magnetic field.
