As a resident of Delhi, I am proud of the historical landmarks, cultural hotspots, shopping malls, and lovely parks our city offers. I would like to express this pride through the columns of your esteemed newspaper. The Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, and India Gate are just a few of the many historical landmarks in Delhi that are part of the city's rich heritage. In addition to drawing visitors from all over the world, these sites of cultural interest offer a window into the colourful past of our nation.
To further increase footfall and allow more people to experience the magnificence of 'Our City,' I suggest a few initiatives. Following the success of the government's recent free entry to historical monuments on Independence Day, we can extend this idea by introducing regular free entry days or weekends for all these attractions throughout the year. Additionally, the city could host periodic cultural festivals and events at these places, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in our diverse traditions and artistic expressions.
Moreover, promoting eco-friendly transportation options such as cycle-sharing programs, shuttle services, and pedestrian-friendly routes will encourage more people to explore the city's wonders without worrying about traffic or parking hassles.
Together, let us work towards preserving and showcasing the treasures of 'Our City' to the nation and the world.
