1. The left-wing communist Naxalite Movement in India is a military revolt. The revolution’s leader, Mao Zedong, aimed to destroy the government and offer locals more freedom through violence.
2. The Indian government violated the Fifth and Ninth Schedules of the Constitution, which contributed to the conflict.
3. The fifth schedule states that tribal advisory councils, not the state, manage all scheduled tribes, forests and land. No Indian state had tribal advisory councils.
4. However, legislation allowed drug firms to mine and erect factories on certain grounds, forcing tribal people to leave. 
5. The Ninth Schedule of the Constitution passed land laws. Only a few rich top castes owned most of the land. The land ceiling also limited a person’s land ownership. 
6. The government was to return the surplus land to farmers. Farmers and workers without land were protected by these Indian Constitutional amendments. Their frustration and revolution resulted from the government’s failure to enforce those rules.
