उत्तर

Types of Radiations Emitted:

Alpha (α) particles, Beta (β) particles, and Gamma (γ) rays.

Nature of these Radiations:

  • Alpha (α) particles: Positively charged helium nuclei \[\ce{(^4_2He^{2+})}\] consisting of 2 protons and 2 neutrons. They have low penetrating power but very high ionising power.
  • Beta (β) particles: Negatively charged fast-moving electrons \[\ce{(^0_-1e)}\] originating from the nucleus. They have moderate penetrating and ionising powers.
  • Gamma (γ) rays: High-energy electromagnetic waves (photons) with zero charge and mass. They travel at the speed of light and possess maximum penetrating power.
